Blames
‘…His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”’ (John 9:2, NKJV).
I have been privileged to listen to some people’s stories. At times, you think you have seen it all. And then, you hear another person’s story and realize that the peak of one’s man’s experience is the pedestal of another man’s. In the middle of a stormy experience, it is not unusual to want to blame this person or that person for our plight. In fact some people go as far as blaming God for causing their problems or for allowing the devil to afflict them.
In the Bible book of John 9, Jesus and His disciples saw a man blind from birth. Then His disciples asked, “Master, who sinned: this man or his parents, causing him to be born blind?” The disciples could find no answer to why a man should be born blind except that he must have committed an unpardonable sin. But Jesus explained to them that the reason why he was born blind was so that the power of God might be displayed in his life (John 9:3). And so shall it be for someone reading this. In Jesus name!
In John 11:21, we saw Martha saying to Jesus, “Lord if you had been here, my mother would not have died.” Here Martha was blaming Jesus for the death of her brother Lazarus. According to her, if Jesus had not come late, her brother would not have died. We thank God that Jesus brought Lazarus back to life. In a like manner, many of us have blamed God again and again for something we felt He could have perverted.
Some people believed that they served God with all their strength, gifts and time. They also gave their time and gifts to God. So when they experienced some negative wind, they became bitter against God and decided to backslide. They also stopped seeking and serving the Lord with their full commitment.
That you think God does not know what He is doing does not change the fact that He does. No man’s situation can prove that God is bad or evil. That today is not good doesn’t mean that tomorrow won’t be. God who already sees ahead of us knows the good plan He has made for your tomorrow. Even when we think He is far away, God is with us all the time. He promised not to leave us nor forsake us.
Henceforth, stop blaming any man. What God will do in your life as you prayerfully draws closer and closer to Him is what matters most. With tenacious prayers, you can enter into your glorious tomorrow soonest. I pray; may your attention shift from making excuses to pursuing His presence. In Jesus name!
