Can God fix the broken life of an abuse victim?

God made it clear in His word regarding His promises of healing for every life situation. In Him there is hope, healing, liberation and justice. These promises include absolute healing for those who have been abused and those currently going through it. The fulfilment of God’s promise of healing would become an evident reality in your life if only you would trust God to fix all the shattered pieces of that precious life that He gave you.

“So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; see, everything has become new” 2 Corinthians 5:17.

“I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, declares the Lord” Jeremiah 30:17.

The effects of any kind of abuse are devastating on individuals, families, and society. But with awareness, community efforts, and God’s help the tide of abuses can be turned and our world can become a safer place for all.

God Will Fix All Those Brokenness

It is okay to feel the need to hide the scars. It is not even out of place to feel like the damage done to you is unfixable. But I will have you know that God would break through all that mess. You are not beyond healing. You are not too broken for restoration. You are not too shattered for repair. Don’t be ashamed of the scars, of the deep crevices that line your soul, or the broken places of your life.

Here is the truth, just because you were abused doesn’t mean that you are thrown away. Just because you’ve been broken doesn’t mean that you are unusable, don’t set up on a shelf. What you’ve been through has the power, unlike anything else, to bring forth new beauty, strength, and inspiration to others.

The scars of life, the healed wounds, the deep lines, they all have stories to tell. Some often we try to hide them away, preferring instead to present to the world, a safe facade and a more “perfect” version. Yes, this is totally understandable; it is perhaps too difficult to risk the real vulnerability of exposing what once was or what still is.

God’s Specialty is Fixing Broken Lives

The amazing news is that we have a Healer. One who repairs. Who can fit the broken pieces that no longer seem to fit right into a perfect design. He works, often behind the scenes, mending, fitting together, creating a better work of art, more than we ever dreamed possible. He makes all things beautiful. Especially in the broken, all from His grace.

God will not just patch you back together, as He secretly hopes the glue will stick. He will do it, beautifully lined with shining grace through every scar and broken space. You will emerge stronger and better.

Let it be at the back of your mind that; you are a survivor because you’re still standing in spite of everything.
