Fulfilling divine purpose

Fulfilling divine purpose

But none of these things move me; neither do I esteem my life dear to myself, if only I may finish my course with joy and the ministry which I have obtained from… the Lord Jesus… (Acts 20:24, AMP).

People have different desires in life. Some people wish they went to high school. A group of others wish they were as gifted as someone else. Some folks’ greatest aspiration is to be very rich and known worldwide. There are those who wish to become powerful leaders that are revered and admired. There are others who yearn to excel in their careers. Desires are endless indeed.

It is nice to have good education. It is great to be gifted and multi-talented. It is admirable to come from a wealthy family. It is good to occupy an enviable position. It is adorable to have a wonderful and blessed family. It is delightful to have connections in high places. It is pleasant to have a lot of servants at one’s beck and call. It is wonderful to have traveled to different nations of the world. It is good to be tall, good-looking and intelligent. But is there something that’s more important than these?

Every man is created to be something and to carry out some specific assignments. No man was made to be exactly like someone else. We are here to fulfill what we were created to achieve. Unless we get our priorities right we will be wasting our time on trivialities and pursuing fantasies. Unless we start and strive to finish the work assigned to us from above, we have achieved nothing; no matter what we think we have achieved.

It is sad that today, people praise sinful men and ungodly women. Mankind continues to sing the praises of persons who promote ungodly practices or are living in obvious sins. Expectedly, such persons bask in the euphoria of men’s praises, deceiving themselves that they are getting it right. They thought that must be what God has destined them to be. If you are living in sin and taking people’s heart away from God by what you do, you are working against God; and whatever you are doing is not His assignment.

Dear friend, are you fulfilling divine purpose? Are you paying attention to the voice of the Holy Spirit? Have you found out the kind of life the Lord wants you to live? Do you want to continue to do what pleases you or what pleases God? Do you know you have a ministry to fulfill? Do you realize that there may not be more time to waste? Mind you, no matter how many people praise, esteem or admire a man; if he doesn’t get “Welcome home” from God for having fulfilled his assignment; he is a waste of divine investment. That will be highly unfortunate and regrettable indeed!

Today’s corporate prayer: I shall not be a waste of divine investment. In the name of Jesus!
