Heart single-mindedness on holiness

Heart single-mindedness on holiness

Heart single-mindedness on holiness

Psalm 57:7 “My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed.”

Psalm 108:1 “O God, my heart is fixed.”

Psalm 112:7 “He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.”

When the angels of the LORD held the hands of Lot, his wife, and his two daughters out of the city of Sodom, they gave them an instruction that they should escape to the mountain and not look behind. Why? Because there will be a repercussion if any of them looked back. This is a good illustration of being fixed toward a particular direction. Our Lord said, “if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.”

More so, it’s same for believers of today who have their hearts fixed on holiness unto God. Nothing sways them off from their consecration and pursuit of attaining holiness. A man who is on a competitive race, doesn’t look back to see who’s behind him. It is certain that Satan will try to remove your focus on holiness, and distract you by his crafty devices through pernicious ways.

But like the Psalmist, you’ll say, “My heart is fixed.” Holiness unto God is my watchword and song, holiness unto the LORD as I’m marching along; I’ll sing it, shout it, loud and long, holiness unto God now and forever.

Something is happening there and people are rushing there; a purposeful, consecrated Christian who has gone with Christ, and is crucified to the world, and the world is crucified unto him, will not be swayed. There is another happening over there and people are tossed about, the single-minded believer will not be moved.

Whether something is happening there, happening here, he doesn’t want to know that. Holiness is the only thing he cares about. And you see that kind of Christian will be concentrated, and by the grace of God, he will also be able to achieve that for which he was apprehended of by Christ Jesus.

Additionally, if you’re standing for holiness, stand for holiness. Don’t be here today, and there tomorrow. Don’t be easily swayed and quit being unstable in your walk with God. Rather, stand and let the world know you as a believer in Christ, holiness should be your watchword forever. And by the time we get to heaven, when our uninterrupted worship will be characterized by holiness, you’ll be happy you ran the race well.

Others may, but I cannot deviate from this heavenly vision. Like Apostle Paul, “But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called me by his grace, to reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood.” In like manner, Reagan has set his feet to walk on this highway of holiness, and never will I roam anymore.
