Heartfelt Giving

Heartfelt Giving

God loves a cheerful giver (II Corinthians 9:7, NIV).

Naturally we think we lose something when we give. The fact is that we receive more than we give each time we give sacrificially. Giving is actually an attitude. There are ‘poor’ people who have ‘a lot’ to give due to their generosity and there are ‘rich’ people who have ‘nothing’ to give to needy fellows. There are ‘poor’ people you would visit and you won’t feel like leaving due to their generosity and hospitality.

Giving is an outflow of love. It is an attribute of God that flows through His children. God loved the world so much that He gave us His best gift – His Son. God’s love does not discriminate. He gives life, sunlight and rain to both the ‘good’ and the ‘bad’ (Mathew 5:45). God’s children give because they love God and because they know He is the supplier of all their needs.

Do you find it difficult to give? Do you give to God and to the things of God? Remember that God gives us the best things as His children. And when we give to God, He considers the quality of what we give, not necessarily the quantity. If you find it difficult to give to God from what He provides for you, then your trust is in your money, not in God.

Is God laying it in your heart to give to Him in anyway? It’s probably because He has prepared a special blessing for you already. So, ask God to show you an area where He wants you to give at this time, and He will. Cultivate the act of giving and you shall be blessed with good measures, pressed down and shaken together. I pray, you shall be blessed beyond your expectations (Luke 6:38). In Jesus name!

Today’s corporate prayer: O Lord help me to cultivate the act of giving. In the name of Jesus!
