Lazy hands (2)

Lazy hands (2)

The lazy person is full of excuses, saying, “If I go outside, I might meet a lion in the street and be killed! (Proverbs 22:13, NLT).

If excuse is a consumable product, then the all-time highest manufacturer of excuses is a company I call “The Lazy Drone Ventures”. Today’s text says the lazy person is full of excuses. It’s either too early or too late; or perhaps too far or too near. If that’s not the case, then it’s either too demeaning or too demanding. When something looks like work, the lazy man tactically avoids it.

A lazy fellow not only lacks self-discipline, but is also not willing to use his initiative when it comes to work. He is yet to realize that there are thousands of excuses lying around for those who are weak enough to pick them.

A lazy folk wastes his attention on non-essentials. He spends useful time before the screen feeding his lazy mind with unproductive entertainment. He hates being exerted mentally or physically. He is easily bored because he’s not creative enough to be productively busy. A lazy man has enough time, so he plays or sleeps too much. He also has enough time to be in places where he should not be; and to be part of discussions that do not affect his life in any meaningful way.

Laziness hardly gives room for a try. But it is better to fail while doing something than to succeed in doing nothing. Laziness is a tragedy and killer of great destinies. It is the fastest route to poverty. No one remembers a lazy man after his exit from this world because he leaves no footprints. Friend, if you have been living in ‘Laziness Avenue’, it’s time to relocate to ‘Diligence Island’. Receive the grace of productive busyness. In Jesus mighty name!

Today’s corporate prayer: Holy Ghost Fire, turn me to burning fire. In the name of Jesus!
