What are you aiming at?
… I’ve got my eye on the goal… (Philippians 3:13, MSB).
A goal is something one attempts to achieve in life. It is the outcome one has in mind before considering how to accomplish it. It is the picture you see of your future. Lack of goals is a good fertilizer for physical or spiritual merry-go-round. A goal has a way of directing one’s attention to goal-relevant activities, and directing them away from irrelevant ones. Goals affect persistence and productivity.
Sometimes, a goal may not be meant to be reached. It may just serve as something to simply aim at. Goals keep us inspired and energized. As long as you feel inspired about a goal that is God-inspired, you are spending your life well. If you are seeking divine fulfillment, it is also seeking you. Don’t ignore any good desire that constantly pulls you. If you step by faith into that thought that looks like an insignificant idea, you may be surprised to find yourself in a realm of endless opportunities and possibilities.
Dear reader, everyone lives by selling something; it may be a product or services. Your goals could be in form of either or both of them. Suffice it to say that goalless people have every tendency to end up unfulfilled and poor. Goal-oriented people run with a speed different from that of average people. They are running while others are walking. They are awake while others are sleeping. They are planning while others are playing. They are praying while others are straying.
Have you discovered your goal in life? If you are not sure you have, create quality time to seek God’s face about it. May you not give up until He has spoken to you about it. In Jesus mighty name!
