Mountain top journey

Mountain top journey

‘The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places’ (Hab. 3:19, KJV).

The high place is our place in Christ. God’s children are meant to be at the mountaintop of life and not in the valley. But naturally, mounting a mountain is not an easy task. It requires good strength. Human strength will fail us because life is like a huge mountain. But if we make the LORD our strength, He will take us to the high places of fulfillment.

Jesus said we are a city set on a hill. Why on a hill? It’s so that we can shine for the world to see. Meanwhile, we cannot talk about high places if there are no low places. Low places of life represent the points or periods when the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vine; when the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; the flocks die in the fields, and the barns are empty (Hab. 3:17). But the truth is, with God as a man’s strength, he’ll scale through his ‘low-place’ season.

God usually raises the poor out of the dust, and lifts the needy out of the dunghill. He sets them among princes, even the princes of His people (Psa. 113:7, 8). Do you seem to be in the valley now? You can make God your strength just like Habakkuk did. He’ll raise you to your high places. He has deposited in you a seed of strength and greatness, meant to take you to your high places in life.

Inside an egg is a cock. There is a bull inside a calf. There is a lion in a cub. There is an eagle in an eaglet. Inside a boy is a great man. Inside a girl is a woman of influence. There is a bigger version of you. You are bigger than what you are seeing now. If you learn to make the Lord your strength, it’s just a matter of time before you see the mountaintop version of you. God’s strength manifests in you in the form of your gifts, virtues, potentials and anointing.

The Bible says “…neglect not the gift that is in you…” (I Tim. 4:14). Stir up the gift…which is in you” (I Tim. 1:6). Develop and use them in His service. They are meant to make you profitable in His kingdom’s business. Don’t sit back. Get busy for the Lord. There are endless things to do for Him if we really desire to. I pray, may we receive divine insights, purpose and strength. In Jesus name!

Today’s corporate prayer: O Lord, incubate my life with your divine fire. In the name of Jesus!
