8Spiritual deadness
God is not the God of the dead, but of the living (Matthew 22:32, KJV).
Death is the absence of life. When life goes out of man, his body is referred to as a corpse. If you are reading this, I thank God that you are alive. But then, as far as God in His word is concerned, there are many folks who are living but are simply walking corpses. How is it so?
Our life on Earth is similar to passing through a school. Men are like students passing through the University of Spiritual Progression. Of the many faculties in that university is a faculty called the Faculty of Spiritual Deadness (FSD); and the following are some of the departments under that faculty.
1. DOH (Department of Haters): I John 3:14 (KJV) says ‘…He that loveth not his brother abideth in death’. In other words, if you allow hatred in your heart against a brother, sister or anyone, irrespective of your reasons, the Word of God says you belong to the faculty of the dead!
2. DWP (Department of Worldly Pleasure): The Bible says that she who lives in pleasure is dead while she lives (I Timothy 5:6, NKJV). Do you exalt pleasure above Godliness? Do you compromise your stand for God on the altar of immorality, wrong influences and associations? Do you discipline yourself to edify your spirit man? Reflect on these and you can tell if you belong to this department or not.
3. DTM (Department of Tongue Misusers): Those who misuse their tongues are automatic candidates in the Faculty of the Dead. The Bible says people die or live based on the way they use their tongues. WordsWords either kill or give life. Proverbs 18:21 says death and life are in the power of the tongue. If your words demote others or kill their peace, joy or courage, you are a student of the Faculty of the dead! I pray, whatever makes you a candidate in the school of death is hereby destroyed. In the mighty name of Jesus.
Today’s Corporate Prayer: O Lord, if I am already a bonafide student of the school of death, cause me to be expelled from there. In the mighty name of Jesus!
