Tares (2)

Tares (2)Tare (2)

…while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat’ (Mathew 13:25, NKJV).

In Jesus’ narration of the “tares and wheat”, the tares didn’t manifest immediately they were sown. They sprouted up when and where they were not expected. Those workmen probably never thought that there was an enemy who was monitoring their activities and ready to frustrate their best efforts.

What did this enemy stand to gain from this wickedness? Looking critically into the situation, I wonder if he actually gained anything from his actions. My conclusion is that he simply derives his own joy from making others sorrowful. Now that’s an enemy indeed!

Looking at the way the world system runs, we can see that enmity is part and parcel of it. Some people who thought everything was fine suddenly discovered that strange things were sprouting up in their lives.

Some people were doing fine until they finished their secondary school education and were preparing to proceed to the tertiary institution. For some still, their battles sprouted up when they got married. Strange enough, some people’s battle didn’t show up until they are in their old age. I actually read about a couple filing for a divorce after forty years of marriage!

Some people’s travail started when they started working in a particular organization. For some, it was when they started living in a particular building or apartment. The troubles of some certain fellows began when they left their parents to live with an uncle, aunt, grandmother, grandfather or a relative.

That was when their lives were thoroughly loaded with evil seeds, the effects of which they are seeing now. Some people who presently appear to be doing fine need to pray against satanic tares which are meant to sprout up later in their lives.

Some of us who ought to start taking spiritual things seriously are still busy pampering the flesh. The kind of prayers some of us are praying now ought to have been prayed long before now. But we didn’t pray then because we felt everything was alright. It will actually take praying people to survive the end-time onslaught of the enemies. Prayer prepares and sustains us in the face of whatever the devil has done or is to do.

Don’t forget the words of Jesus that whatever is not planted by God shall be uprooted (Matthew 15:13). Prepare your mind for this battle and be ever-ready. I pray, the Lion of Judah shall pursue your pursuers and devour them. In Jesus name!

Today’s corporate prayer: Conspiracy of dark powers against my home, scatter! In the mighty name of Jesus!
