Thankful attitude

O give thanks unto the Lord; for He is good; for his mercy endureth forever (I Chronicles 16:34, KJV).

How do you think God feels when, instead of thanking him, we grumble and complain about ‘this’ and ‘that’? I guess it’s the same way you feel when someone takes your kindness and generosity for granted.

If you haven’t felt very bad because someone didn’t appreciate your kind gesture or financial support, I have. Some people have a sense of entitlement. They act like they not only deserve what you give them, but even merit more. Are you like that?

Gratitude is a habit we should all cultivate though it doesn’t come naturally to us. You think your situation is very pitiable but you are far better than many folks. One irony of life is that it seems that people who have ‘less’ are more grateful to God than people who have ‘more’.

Wasn’t there a time you thought you wouldn’t make it? What about the time people too thought you wouldn’t scale through? Look how far you have come! He who has brought you this far will not forsake you. So cultivate the habit of thanking the Lord; for he is good; for his mercy endures forever!

Today’s corporate prayer: O Lord, you have given me so many things but give me one more thing – a grateful heart. In Jesus mighty name!
