The command to worship God in holiness

The command to worship God in holinessThe command to worship God in holiness

1 Chronicles 16:29 “Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.”

Every true believer in Christ is called to worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness. God is the essence of holiness, and God gives commands according to his nature. The LORD is glorious in holiness, and any one who will worship the LORD must worship him in holiness.

Remember the vision of Isaiah the prophet, when he saw the LORD sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up. He saw the seraphims, and one cried unto another and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD. The truine God is holy, and even the angels acknowledge the gloriousness of his holiness, and bow before the majesty of his holiness. If the host of heaven as holy as they are, worships God in holiness – then should we not worship him in holiness? For God hath not called us unto uncleaness, but unto holiness. It is written, “be ye holy for I am holy.

There are people who think it is by singing some kind of emotional songs that is true worship. There are others that think it is the facial expression that is true worship. There are others who think it is the attire they put on, and their outward countenance that is true worship.

There are others who think that it is by a melodious voice, and good rhythm that is true worship. Oh no, that is not it. The LORD desireth truth in the inward parts. How sweet unto God is a fragrance of worship coming out of a pure heart. The LORD searcheth the reins (desires) and the thoughts (heart) and he discerns true worship.

Undoubtedly, the LORD is calling us to true worship. In whatever we do, let’s do it heartily as unto the LORD and not to please men. O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all ye earth. For the LORD looketh down from the mountain of his holiness, and inhabits the praise and worship of true believers clothed with the inward garment of holiness and purity, and the outward attire of righteousness and faith. Singing always, with grace and melody in their hearts.
