The Good Shepherd (Part 1)

The Good Shepherd (Part 1)The Good Shepherd (Part 1)

Psalm 23 :1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

Who is a shepherd?

A shepherd is a person who tends sheep, especially a grazing flock.

Who is a shepherd? A shepherd is a someone who watches over, looks after, or guides somebody or animals.

Who is a shepherd? A shepherd is the pastor of a church, one who guides others in church.

However, there are two types of shepherds; we have the good one and the bad one. All human beings have a shepherd. You have your shepherd whether you belief it or not, whether you acknowledge it or not. Whether you agree with me or not, one of the shepherds is in charge of your life.

The first shepherd is God and the second is satan. It is not possible to stand on the fence. You can’t belong to both God and satan at the same time. You can’t deny the existence of God and claim to hate satan at the same time. Your opinion doesn’t matter; consciously or unconsciously, one of the shepherds is watching over you. If you like, don’t go to church, mosque, shrine, altar, coven, or temple. Your life is still governed by either God or satan.

The differences between the two shepherds

John 10:1-18

1. The good shepherd enters the sheep pen through the gate while the bad shepherd will enter the sheep pen by jumping over the fence.

2. The good shepherd goes ahead of the sheep to show them the way to go while the bad shepherd will always misdirect the sheep.

3. The sheep can recognise the voice of the good shepherd but they won’t recognise the voice of the bad shepherd.

4. The good shepherd will lead the sheep to the pasture while the bad shepherd will lead them to wolfs and lions that will devour them.

5. The good shepherd had come to give good things and eternal life while the bad shepherd came to steal, kill and to destroy the sheep.

6. The good shepherd is willing and ready to die for the sheep but the bad shepherd will rather betray the sheep because he’s not ready to die for the sheep.

7. The good shepherd will stand by the sheep during attack from dangerous animals, sickness, famine, drought. But the bad shepherd will run away and abandon the sheep in the cold hand of death.

8. The good shepherd cares for the sheep but the bad one does not know how to care for the sheep.

9. The good shepherd owns the sheep but the bad shepherd is a stranger.

10. The good shepherd looks for the unity of the sheep but the bad shepherd is happy when there’s quarrelling and fight among the sheep.
