The time to forgive is now

The time to forgive is nowThe time to forgive is now

Genesis 26:16 -32
Verse 32 “On that day Isaac’s servants came and told him about the well which they had dug, they said, “we have found water”

When God blessed and prospered Isaac, the Philistines became jealous of his wealth. They could not handle their jealousy so they drove Isaac out of their country. There was a break in Isaac’s relationship with the Philistines. Isaac made many attempts to have wells of his own but all his efforts proved abortive.

One day, ķing Abimelech came to him to reconcile with him. When Isaac saw king Abimelech and his team, he was ranting but he later forgave them and allowed peace to reign. They parted as friends instead of enemies.

On that same day, Isaac received the news that “they had found water.” They had been trying to have water for months before then, but after he forgave his enemies, he found water.

Why are you still keeping malice with your spouse, boss, in-laws, neighbours, friend or pastor? You may have your strong reasons but you still have to let go and forgive.

Were you molested? Were you deprived of your rights? Did someone lie against you? Were you betrayed? Were you duped? Were you robbed? Were you wrongly accused? Were you unjustly imprisoned? Were you sacked? Were you disappointed by your fiance or friend? Were you used as a scapegoat? Were you abandoned?

Did he refuse to take responsibility for the pregnancy? Were you left to raise the children alone? Were you insulted? Were you stigmatized? Did he murder your loved ones? Did he ruin your future? Did he damage your reputation? Did he post your nude pictures and videos on social media? Did your spouse cheat on you?

Were you made to cry? Were you made to shed blood? Were you humiliated? Were you abused? Did he attempt to kill you? Were you raped? Were you drugged? Were you implicated? Were you misunderstood? Were you punished? Were you stopped from marrying the love of your life? Were you poisoned? Were you frustrated by your mother-in-law?

There are four major reasons  you should forgive those that offended you;

1. All these are very painful but it is too small to hinder you from making heaven. Unforgiveness is one of weapons the devil uses to take the children of God to hell fire. Please for heaven’s sake, forgive all those that offended you, and don’t hold it against them anymore.

2. Matthew 6:12 says: “forgive us the wrongs we have done. As we forgive the wrongs that others have done to us.”

You also offend people and God. If you want God to forgive you your sins, then as a matter of truth, you have to forgive all those that offended you. Hope you know that if God does not forgive you your sins, you can NEVER make heaven.

3. Another reason you have to forgive those that offended you is that, it will allow you have peace of mind. You will be very free in your heart. There will be no heartache when you see that person. There will be no grumbling when you see the person. You will not need to opt for a longer route all in the name of trying to avoid him or her. You will be free to act the way you feel like without being uncomfortable. You will be able to worship God and pray to Him without any rancor.

4. Unforgiveness can hinder the blessings of God for your life. It can close your heaven. It can make one to labour in vain. It can chase helpers away. It can cause delay. It can hinder the answers to your prayers. It may be the reason suitors have not come. It may be the reason you have not been employed. It may be the reason you have not been promoted. It may give demons legal ground in your life. It can open door for miscarriage, bad dreams, depression, discouragement, rejection, oppression, defeat, disgrace, humiliation, sorrow, bitterness, satanic attacks, failures, setback, and so on.

The time to forgive and move on is now.

Receive the grace to forgive all those that offended you in Jesus name.
