Uniquely designed
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works.. (Psalm 139:14; KJV).
All men are sustained by the same gift of life but they don’t operate with the same gifts, ‘graces’ or opportunities. No matter how rich you are, someone is richer than you. So no one needs to be proud. No matter how poor you are, someone is poorer than you. So none should be ungrateful to God.
If as a rich man, you see someone richer than you, and at the same time humbler, it should help you to check yourself. And if as a ‘poor’ man, you see a less-privileged fellow who is happier and more grateful than you, you cheer up and tell yourself that there is hope for you.
When we talk about talents, gifts, exposure, education, knowledge and so on, we see that no man has it all or lacks it all. For every advantage there is a disadvantage and for every disadvantage there is an advantage.
That’s the reality of inequality. Be grateful to God for your life and give him thanks for the lives of others. If you think you depend on others, remember that some people too depend on you. Everyone plays a role. You cannot play all the roles. As a matter of necessity, we are all interdependent. You complain that you are not the best, but you forget that you are not the worst either.
There is something beautiful about every life. It’s just that it takes a revelation to see the different divine ‘graces’ we are endowed with. When thoughts of inferiority knock at the door of your heart; challenge them using your divine uniqueness password. Each time you do this, the evil visitors will be nowhere to be found. Therefore, be armed with God’s grace upon your life. I pray, May you not lose the sense of your uniqueness. In Jesus awesome name!
