Uproot
‘ planted by my Father in heaven will be pulled out by its roots’ (Mathew 15:13, MSB).
One of the agenda of the devil is to afflict families and keep them in perpetual bondage. The Bible says he came to steal, kill and destroy. The devil is fighting every individual and family in one way or the other. So, it becomes important to resist him and fight back. The Bible says, “…resist the devil, and he will flee from you”. If we make up our mind that his evil must come to an end, it surely will.
More often than not, some afflictions have been in many families before the present generation of people arrived. Some of them started decades or centuries ago as an evil seed that was planted. Now it has grown into a big tree of troubles and problems.
However there is a heavenly verdict by Jesus: “…Every tree that wasn’t planted by my Father in heaven will be pulled out by its roots”. Cutting off a branch of the problem does not give a final solution. We must by dogged prayer get to the root of the problems and have it pulled out.
Today, individuals and families battle with different troubles. There are families where members are always in debt; have wayward and rebellious children; have constant misunderstandings; die prematurely; lack favour; inherit a particular sickness; sleep with spouse’s siblings; live in abject poverty; are into crime and dubious businesses; move from one marriage to another; experience miscarriages; have terrible dreams; join the occult; have terrible anger; are never united; are frequently lied against; punished for an offence they didn’t commit; are hated for no reason; and so on.
Satan torments individuals and families when he has a foothold that is yet to be addressed. This foothold makes people vulnerable to the devil’s penetration into their lives and families. Such footholds include sins, weaknesses and ignorance. They could be unforgiving spirit, anger, pride, laziness, prayerlessness, worry, fear, lack of commitment to God, holding on to sinful sexual partners, and so on. You need to surrender to Jesus today and wear the garment of ceaseless prayer. I pray, every evil tree in our lives shall be uprooted today. In Jesus name!
