Fear (Part 1)

FearFear (Part 1)

1 Kings 19:1-3

King Ahab told his wife Jezebel everything that Elijah had done and how he had put all the prophets of Baal to death. She sent a message to Elijah: “may the gods strike me dead if by this time tomorrow I don’t do the same thing to you that you did to the prophets.” Elijah was AFRAID and fled for his life.

The spirit of fear is a powerful weapon in the hand of satan. He is aware that without the spirit of fear, it will be difficult for him to fulfill his mission in some cases. He knows that when the spirit of fear is in operation; discouragement will soon have access, hopelessness and helplessness will walk in majestically; negative confession will soon have his way, crying and weeping will soon be the order of the day, depression will soon follow suite, anger and bitterness will soon come in, doors will be open for suicidal thoughts. This is why the devil usually attacks the children of God will fear.

What is fear?

Fear is false evident appearing to be real. Most of the things we are afraid of never come to past. I remember vividly, when a government in Lagos (Nigeria) marked some buildings for demolition, some people had heart attack and died, some were hospitalized, some could not eat for days, some were running helter skelter, some were weeping and became sad, some gave out money to officials as a bribe.

The truth is that those buildings are still standing till date but unfortunately, some of the owners are no more, some of them never recovered from sickness. That is an example of what fear can do.

As a result of fear: many have said what they should not say, many have been to places they should not have gone, they have seen what they should not have seen, they have acted in regrettable ways, they have loved what they should not have loved, they have hated what they should not hate, they have rejected what they should not rejecte, they have received what they were not supposed to receive, they have opposed what they were suppose to embrace, they have turned enemies to friends and friends to enemies.

As a result of fear: many have gone to the wrong church, many have prayed the wrong prayers, they have patronized fetish people, they have married their enemy, they have bowed to witches, they have bowed to evil pressure, they have become the second wife of their boss, they have signed wrong documents, they have killed, they are studying wrong courses in wrong schools, their spouses have become suspects, they have travelled to wrong countries, they are dinning with the devil, they have accepted wrong job offers.
