Accessing divine peace

and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus’ (Philiphians 4:7, NKJV).

You can only get peace from the Prince of peace. That’s why you need to come to Jesus. When you come to Him, He solves your most urgent problem which is your separation from God and lack of peace. From there, the Holy Spirit in you starts to teach you how to maintain your peace and live in victory over all the strategies of the evil one.

One thing the Holy Spirit will teach you is how to become a person of prayer and faith in God, and this will gradually destroy your worries. Instead of worrying, we pray. We let petitions and praises shape our worries into prayers, letting God know our concerns. Before knowing it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle us down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of man’s life (See Phil. 4:6,7, MSB).

Instead of worrying we have to pray. Prayer and worry are inversely proportional. That means that as one increases; the other decreases. Our worries won’t stop until we learn to pray. Worry doesn’t only harm our health but it’s also a sin. So what do we need to do to continue to enjoy heavenly peace? We pray! If you don’t have time to talk with God, you’ll have enough time to worry, be angry and frustrated!

To pray doesn’t mean to spend five minutes talking to God and expect worry to be gone. A thousand times no! Prayer means to begin our day with prayer and to continue to do so any time of the day. We can pray en route our places of work. We can do so at workplace with every opportunity we have. Pray when you are in high spirits and pray when you seem down.

The more we pray the more we want to pray. There is no substitute to prayer if we want real peace and ultimate victory. Can you reschedule yourself to pray for at least an hour today? This can be split into three different periods of the day. If maintained and improved on, this will keep your prayer life going and growing.

Today’s Corporate Prayer: O Lord, help me to overcome every prayer obstacle in my life and make me a prayer giant. In Jesus mighty name!
