Crossfire

Crossfire Crossfire

‘For our struggle is…against the spiritual forces of evil…’ (Ephesians 6:12, NIV).

One of the greatest delusions of life is to promote the natural above the spiritual. We are in a constant state of spiritual conflict. An endless battle goes on constantly in the spirit realm but many people have a careless attitude to spiritual warfare.

Meanwhile, warfare is a full-time programme of the devil. He constantly plans and strategizes how to attack you and me. He has short-term and long-term plans against everyone. Day and night he moves about seeking whom to devour!

His constant search for victims is not a joke and his attacks are not for fun. He is very serious with his mission. He is heavily armed and will promptly steal, kill or destroy, depending on the level of 8opportunity he gets. His attacks will daze and confuse his victims. Satan’s attacks make his victims sluggish and blind to spiritual realities. They become bewitched and commit unpardonable errors; the type which they themselves wonder why they fell into in the first place.

Sadly many people try to use physical means to tackle spiritually-programmed problems. They might come to a point where they explain spiritual strategies of warfare like prayers and fasting away. So, it becomes a big issue or struggle when anyone tells them to fast and pray.

The devil knows that if many people have some time to themselves, they might use that time to seek the face of the Lord. So he engages them with what looks like work or busyness. This takes most of their time, exhausts them and leaves little or no time for their spiritual walk with God. The devil then uses this opportunity to strengthen the bondage he has put them in. In the end, despite all the daily hours of work, there’s little or nothing to show for all the toils.

Many times the devil keeps many from discovering the real source of their trouble. Many of what people pass through presently had been planned and perfected by the devil’s agents some ten, fifteen, twenty or thirty years ago. People are only seeing the manifestations now. A lot of people blame those that are presently around them for causing their troubles but it’s a wrong accusation.

When one continues in prayerlessness; he falls into different sins like anger, bitterness, stealing, compromise with the world, lack of self control, and so on. This strengthens the devil to keep them bound. I pray; may the blood of Jesus heal every injury you have sustained in the battlefield of life. In Jesus name!

Today’s corporate prayer: Inherited battles that are troubling my life; be terminated. In Jesus mighty name!
