Dreaming Big

Dreaming Big

And though you started with little, you will end with much (Job 8:7, NLT).

Some Christians believe that they won’t be good Christians if they are rich and prosperous. They believe that poverty is an emblem of humility and so it’s a Christian virtue. How surprising! Lack and absolute dependence on others to meet one’s needs are not the things that qualify a believer for heaven. With this kind of mind programming, a person might remain static because God’s word says “as one thinks in his heart, so is he (Proverbs 23:7).

We were not saved to be slaves; neither were we redeemed to be reduced. Thinking that the only things that matter are spiritual blessings is wrong. If financial and material blessings are not important, God wouldn’t have promised them. How does God expect us to meet our physical, material and financial needs if He doesn’t make provision for them? Actually there are folks with wonderful Christian lives, who are but materially poor and financially wanting.

As Christians, nothing stops us from having a big dream of what we want to be or do as inspired by God. Most successful people today were inspired by their dreams in their chosen endeavours. And it is important that that dream must be practicable enough to fulfill divine purpose and meet people’s needs.

The following fields are examples of practical areas to which our dreams could be connected: sales of foodstuffs and/or other consumable products; farming (small or large scale); teaching; sewing; baking; eatery services; household electrical services or repairs of electronic equipments; telecommunication business; sales of ice blocks; computer training; consultancy services; online services; and so on.

If you are not sure of what to pursue, you can ask God to direct you. And He will. May God lead us into the fulfillment of divine purpose. In Jesus mighty name!

Today’s corporate prayer: I shall fulfill my purpose in life and become a blessing to my generation. In the mighty name of Jesus!
