Have you counted the cost?

Have you counted the cost? Have you counted the cost?

Mark 8:36-37 “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?”

Your soul is so precious that it’s bringing a warfare between light and darkness, heaven and hell, Christ and Satan. Your soul is so valuable that it consists of two worlds. And that’s why two kingdoms are fighting for it. But who wins depends on you.

Eternity, eternity, eternity, where will you spend eternity? Remember, there’s a line that is drawn by rejecting the LORD. Have you crossed that line? If yes, count the cost. The LORD God has made provision for your rescue against that great judgment day; have you gone to be a partaker of that wonderful provision?

I believe you have been hearing about salvation in Christ, what step have you taken to attain this gracious salvation? Remember the rich young ruler, he wanted eternal life, and he came to our LORD. And when he requested of Christ the way, Jesus told him the second part of the commandments. And he acquitted that he has done all that.

And Jesus, who knows all men, and knows the heart of all men, beholding him, saw that mammon (money/riches) was his damnable idolatry, and he needed to part with it so as to freely love God with all his heart. Our Lord said, “go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.” The Bible says, But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.” I tell you today, your idealogy, nor theology cannot change the words of eternal life.

You know, money is the chase of almost every one today, they want to have this, to have that. Bank account in Nigeria, bank account overseas, houses here in Nigeria, houses in almost every part of the world. They even name streets according to their names. Thinking that is enjoyment, and prosperity.

Do you remember the rich man in Luke chapter 12. He had all he could get, and then he said, “I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.” But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? He didn’t center his achievement on the blessings of God, neither did he regard his soul.

Remember, he was a rich man, and God said to him, “Thou fool!” What will God say of you? A rich man, thou fool. An educated man, thou fool. A highly placed man, thou fool. A first class man, thou fool. Count the cost if your soul should be lost. This rich man would have become the song of many today, who will say he has succeeded. But they don’t know that success without salvation is useless.

Think about heaven, and think about Christ. If you miss heaven, you’ll cry. And O, what a weeping and wailing, as the lost were told of their fate, they cried for the rocks and the mountains, they prayed, but their prayer was too late.

The LORD Jesus is on his way coming, and the wrath of God is coming on the disobedient ones. This wicked, sinful, adulterous, immoral, corrupt, degenerate world is coming to an end, and the time of grace will soon expire. Who will escape? He that hath an ear to hear, let him hear.”

Choose Christ, and be willing to wholeheartedly follow him and serve him to the end.
