Heavenward Christian Virtues

Heavenward Christian Virtues Heavenward Christian Virtues

Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”

If you carefully look well into the scriptures, you’ll observe that the fruits of the Spirit is in the singular, not like the works of the flesh which manifest in the plural. That is to say, the Spirit of God is one, anywhere and at anytime in anyone.

As Christians journeying through this world to heaven, we must manifest the fruit of the Spirit, which differentiates us from the people of the world, and show that we’ve really been with the Lord Jesus Christ.

The LORD will ask, since you’ve been a Christian, has thou shown practical Christian love to your neighbors, and even members of the household of faith? Just a little misunderstanding between you and your fellow, malice creeps in. Just a little reprove from other brethren, and you disengage from their companionship. Just a little delay in the reciprocation of oath, and then there’s fury, anger and irritability. That’s not the manifestation of the Spirit, ’cause charity suffereth long.

Pressing on the upward way, matching to glory land? Is there peace within your heart, coupled with joy in your soul, that reaches to all around you? Or you do not engage in any that calls for, or promote peace? The Spirit of God is one, and God is not an author of confusion.

Heavenward bound? Learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart. Do you so rashly react to thorns thrown at you? No, be thou grave in all things; for blessed are the meek.

Christian disposition, and Christian discipline is the virtual view of the Lordship of Christ, and the ruling mastery of the Holy Spirit.

Let us come back to Calvary. We need a second touch. We want a Christianity and holiness that engulfs and oozes around believers. We want the good old days of John Wesley. And I pray that God will make us worthy, profitable, instruments that we ought to be, to the glory and honour of his name.
