How often do we wash one another’s feet?

How often do we wash one another's feet? How often do we wash one another’s feet?

John 13:12 – 17

Our Master and Saviour, Jesus Christ washed His disciples’ feet. He then encourages us to wash one another’s feet. But how often do we do that?

  • I am not talking about physical washing of the feet.
  • How often are we upholding each other?
  • How often do we encourage one another with our visitation, advice or money?
  • How often do we bless one another, either with our mouth, hand or leg?
  • How often do we remember one another in prayers?
  • How many times do we fast for one another?
  • What are we doing concerning Youth ministry?
  • What role are we playing concerning Gospel Musicians?

Are we waiting for them to misbehave so that we can start blaming them?

  • What are we doing concerning drama ministers?
  • How often do we pray for the ministers of God?
  • How often are we praying for other churches?
  • What are we doing about the lost souls?
  • What are we doing about backsliders?
  • How many attempts have we made to correct wrong practices in our church?
  • What are we doing to help those brethren passing through challenges?
  • How have we been of help to that brother in the prison?
  • What about that family looking for the fruit of the womb?
  • What about those brethren looking for job?
  • What about the brother looking for marital partner?
  • What about that sick sister?
  • What about that member that is mentally unstable?
  • What are we doing concerning the politics going on in the house of God?
  • What about the misunderstanding in the church?
  • What about the Pastor that misfired?
  • What are we doing concerning the Pastor that fell into error?
  • What steps have we taken concerning the secret God revealed to us?

Remember the woman caught in the act, Jesus didn’t condemn her ( John 8 : 1 -11), Apostle Peter walked on water and later he started sinking, Jesus didn’t abandon him, He rescued him.

  • Brethren of today are exposing one another to attack.
  • They are mocking one another.
  • They are ridiculing one another.
  • They are embarrassing one another.
  • They are disgracing one another.
  • They drag one another to court for unbelievers to preach to them.
  • They fast to pull one another down.
  • They go to Mountain to pull one another down.
  • They suspect one another.
  • They work against one another.
  • They envy one another.
  • They hate one another.
  • They betray one another.
  • They punish one another.
  • They suppress one another.
  • They disappoint one another.
  • They deceive one another.
  • They blackmail one another.
  • They conspire against one another.
  • They are bitter against each other.
  • They fight against each other.
  • They poison each other.
  • They abuse each other.
  • They nake each other.
  • They rebel against each other.
  • They pull each other down.
  • There is always seniority contest among them.
  • They are always struggling for power.
  • They always want to dominate.
  • They always want to intimidate.
  • They always threaten one another.
  • They are never ready to wash each other’s feet.

What was Jesus saying when He asked us to wash each other’s feet? Love one another. Intercede for one another. Pray for one another. Fast for one another. Bless one another. Visit one another. Defend one another. Cloth one another. Encourage one another. Advice one another. Humble yourself before one another.

How faithful are you to this assignment given by our Lord Jesus Christ? It is high time we started running the race as children of the same Father. Let the change start with you, so that you can be a good example for others to follow.
