Striving and Fighting Against Sin

STRIVING AND FIGHTING AGAINST SIN

Galatians 5:17 – For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

As we have come to Christ, we are no more under the government of the flesh. We have been delivered from its bondage into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

Therefore, we are not to live under the dictates of the flesh: for if we do, we shall die; but if we through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body we shall live.

In this present world, we are going to suffer a life-long battle against sin, sinful desires, and sinners. But the joy of it all is that the Lord Jesus said, MY GRACE IS SUFFICIENT FOR THEE.

Every garment spotted by the flesh should be of utmost detestation in our eyes. We should not accomodate sin, but bear the infirmities of the weak.

We should stand strong against any word, desire, or action that would gratify the flesh no matter the nobility or status of the person involved.

God has condemned sin in the flesh by the death of his Son. He has brought an end to the tyranny and reign of that old Mr. Flesh that would not allow us serve God. Wherefore the Scripture says, And they that are Christ have crucified the flesh with the affections and lust.

Being then made free from sin we became servants of righteousness. Anywhere we go our Misson is to Walk against sin, Preach against sin, until righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as lamp that burneth.

Ye have not yet resisted unto blood striving against sin.
God still expects us to get to the point of wounds and death if that will conquer sin in wherever place we find ourselves. We do not live for ourselves anymore, but for him who died and rose again.

How come then that sometimes before us we find false preachers encouraging sin by their dark messages and we do not arise to shine forth the light of the knowledge of the glory of God? How is that we fear men above the word of God, that we see a person living contrary to the holy standard of God and yet still possesses his religious seat? How come we listen to people who do not know the Lord and they make fun of our God, disdain righteousness, contempt holy living and we do not stand our ground to fight the good fight of faith?

And herein is that saying true, and why call ye me Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? Luke 6:46.

Stand up, stand up for Jesus! It is time for us to make full proof of our holy calling.
If we claim to belong to Jesus, then we go all the way fighting and striving against Sin.
Not many will be happy with us, not many will support or encourage us, not many will stay with us. But we are not bothered, the Lord with us we are more than Conquerors.

Though opposers may present themselves against us in a subtle way or in a direct way, in the name of Jesus we will run them over.
