Eternity So Far

ETERNITY SO NEAR

Revelation 16:15 – Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

As the clock (time) of life ticks, so each minute draw us closer to eternity. Every man living today in the grace of God or not is standing at the door of eternity, but how many steps they’ll take to slip into eternity I do not know.

Our Lord Jesus Christ admonishes us to walk and work in the light of eternity. For whatever is been done today will be accounted for in eternity.
This present life as it were is a preparation for eternity.

Many religious people, church goers, nominal professing Christians live so carelessly without the consciousness of an endless eternity after death.
Reader, do you know that there is life after death? Do you know that your soul will live for ever? Do you know that what you are doing now is already deciding where you will spend your eternity?

Eternity, eternity: when the stream of time shall be swallowed up in the ocean of eternity, O man where will you be?

One of my heroes (John Wesley) said, “I weigh everything by the gain of what it would count in eternity.

Reader, do you know that whatever you have done or you’re doing now, if it is not done for Christ will be as shaft that will be carried away by wind in eternity? Do you not know that only in Christ we can labour profitably?

And if it be so, then you must know Christ, you must be a partaker of his holiness, else it would be impossible for you to labour for him, otherwise you would labour for the wind.

And is it no surprise to see that many today mock and make jest of eternity? O yes they do. But where are they today? Some of them have gone to eternity without mercy that great gift of God. And I can tell you with all certainty that by now the reality of a _”certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation which shall devour the adversary”_ has dawn on them. And as it has become them, there’s no second chance.

O eternity, eternity! Who shall make us understand the concept of eternity, and how earnest should we daily live with eternity in view.

Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness.
