The Call to Holiness

The Call to Holiness

The Call to Holiness

1 Peter 1:15-16 “But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.”

For God hath not called us unto uncleaness, but unto holiness. There are so many people who see holiness as a kind of segregative duty of a believer, hence, they isolate themselves from the call to holiness.

The call to holiness is to all truly born again believers, none is exempted. Once you are adopted by grace into the family of God through faith in Christ, the call to holiness is unto you as stated in 1 Peter 1:16 which says “be ye holy, for I am holy.”

You might be thinking, is it that this holiness is the criteria for salvation? No it is not, but it is a condition to be met after salvation in Christ, not just only for your progress and earthly blessings, but a prerequisite for making heaven at last.

Therefore, understand that the way to heaven is a highway of holiness, and God has called all pilgrims that will tread on that heavenly highway to a life of holiness. When the LORD calls us to holiness, He’s not calling us to a deceptive holiness, hypocritical holiness, superficial holiness, but he’s calling us to committed scriptural holiness.

Consequently, know that since you are a believer, God demands fruits of holiness from you. You’ll say, can I be holy by myself? No you can’t, but that’s where consecration comes in. If you are not hungry, determined, and prayerful to attain scriptural holiness, you might be there for years even after being truly saved and still count holiness as an impossible attainment.

But when you are hungry and thirsting after it as the hart panteth after the water brooks, the LORD will fill your heart with gracious holiness and give you grace to conserve the experience and daily walk in holiness.

Holiness unto the LORD is possible

This day you can choose to draw a mark that will demarcate you between your past by prayer. And God is willing to do it for as many that will come to ask him by faith.
This holiness, God will help us attain it. This purity that our fathers of faith and patriachs of old got, we’ll have it in Jesus name.

Seek the Lord while he may be found, call upon him while he is near. Ask and receive, for the promise is unto you. As “the Ecclesia,” we are called to holiness unto the LORD, without which no man shall see God.
