The Much Ado about Tithe (3)

Mortals That Paid Tithe in the Time of Old Before the Law

Before the law was written and given to man by God Abraham and Jacob paid tithe. Abraham paid tithes of all to Melchizedek the priest of the Most High God. You may ask, who told and taught Abraham about tithe? God of course! This is because the law had already been written in the heart and subconscious mind of man as God’s natural law of life.

So Abraham subconsciously did it to obey and fulfill the law of nature in man. That’s why he did it without any formal order or injunction from God so that it could be imputed and counted unto him for righteousness. And become what God could use to set up a precedence for those that shall hence forth live by faith, like the father of faith Abraham did, Genesis 14:18-20.

Jacob also being moved by the same mind set, Promised to pay the one tenth of all he would get in the land where he was going if God could be with him and bring him back to his father’s house in peace. And when he came back to his father’s house in peace he fulfilled his promise because he vowed to God.

“And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God’s house: and of all that thou shall give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee” Genesis 28:22.

THE IMPORTANCE AND POWER OF TITHE

Tithe is a holy thing. It is a portion of God’s own share in the one tenth increase and profit of man’s income earnings and allowances. Tithe is an all time ordinance of God’s parts and ways man could be blessed and inherit the riches of God’s blessings of life on earth.

Therefore, tithing is a holistic action of love, respect, honour and obedience to God and His word. Our prompt and unquestionable obedience to it is holiness unto the Lord and justification to them that put their hope and trust in God to obey and practice it. For the just shall live by faith!

Therefore, tithe being a covenant, is an agreement between God, the seed sower and the earth to bless and reward the sweat and labour of the obedient ones with the blessings and increase of the earth: and devour the sweat and labour of those that will disobey with failure and total consummation.
