Tick

TickTicks

‘Teach us to make the most of our time, so that we may grow in wisdom’ (Psalm 90:12, NLT).

One gift that God gives equally to everyone is time. No one has more or less of it. Each tick of the time is an invaluable gift to us. Fulfilling dreams is faster for those who manage their time well than those who don’t. To those who are very time-conscious, there is no time to even check the time. They engage in productive things. Only those who don’t know its value fritter away their time with unproductive habits.

Procrastination and laziness are two major enemies of time. To conquer them one needs to plan his day; and such a plan should cover the study of God’s word, prayers, one’s work or business, relaxation and rest, amongst other important things. But we need to fix our most important tasks at the time when we can concentrate most and work best. The more difficult tasks should also be done before easier ones.

We may never find time for anything except we create it. We need to make out time to plan, to think, to pray, to play, to laugh, to dream, to visit, to exercise and to hear from God. No matter how energetic anyone is, he cannot always do everything that is to be done. You ought to know when to stop one thing and begin another so as to prevent being overwhelmed. Having a to-do list in order of priorities and being disciplined enough to follow it through will be of great help.

Many of us didn’t realize the importance of time management early enough. But then, we don’t have to continue to regret over the time or opportunities we have lost. We should rather focus on the time we have now. God is still bringing opportunities our way. So, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past,” says the Lord. “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” (Isa. 43:18, NIV). Make up your mind that the rest of your time will be profitable to God, to you and to those within the sphere of your influence. Receive the grace to make the most of your time. In Jesus name!

Today’s Corporate Prayer: Satanic dullness upon my life, I shake you off! In the mighty name of Jesus!
