Watch your judgments

Watch your judgments

Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to the light the hidden things of darkness… (I Corinthians 4:5, KJV).

Apart from being a major source of error and tragedy, wrong assumptions could also be very destructive indeed. Some folks have, by wrong assumptions, done a permanent damage to someone’s life. Others have created unnecessary enemies for themselves. The devil makes some folks to assume and believe that everyone is against them, or that every conversation is a discussion about them. So, they are permanently depressed.

Consider this scenario: Your money was missing and you assumed that a particular person stole it. You accused the person of theft only to find out that someone else stole it or you actually forgot that you kept it somewhere else. Has something like this happened around you?

Sometimes, when I remember some of my wrong assumptions in the past, I feel sorry about my ignorance. Some individuals are very quick to condemn others without knowing anything about their past.

Certain people who have been killed, sentenced to prisons, or lost their sources of livelihood are simply unfortunate victims of other people’s wrong assumptions. Wrong assumptions also make people to become close friends with their enemies and see their friends as enemies.

Is someone suffering now because of something you assumed wrongly? Have you by wrong assumption put your spouse in emotional trauma? Was someone demoted because of your assumptions?

Have you created enemies for someone because you assumed that what you said about him was true? Has somebody given up hope just because of your wrong assumptions about her? You need to ask for God’s forgiveness and guidance and do something corrective about your mistakes. May the Lord help you. In Jesus name!

Today’s corporate prayer: I receive divine wisdom and fire to deliver me from the negative effects of my wrong assumptions. In the mighty name of Jesus!
