Decision on Heaven: Sure and definite

Decision on Heaven: Sure and definiteDecision on Heaven: Sure and definite

Philippians 1:23” For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better.”

Here is Apostle Paul, writing by the holy Ghost to the Philippians. And telling them that now, he is in a two-junction, which calls for his decision on which part to take. Leaving the flesh to abide with Christ, or abiding in the flesh which was more needful for them at that time. Apostle Paul, by the grace of God given unto him was running a sure race. He was convinced of his destination that heaven was his home. He was running not as uncertainly, as one that beateth the air, but confident that his destination was heaven.

How about David, who confessed that he was a stranger and sojourner as his fathers were. Even when his child whom he got from Bathsheba died, he was settled, and assured that “I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.” Even the heroes of faith were all convinced that they looked for a city. And truly if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. But now they desired a better country, that is a heavenly one.

Christian, are you sure that heaven is your home? Are you confident in God that if the rapture should take place at any time, you will make it? Are you laying up treaures in store up on high, being assured that it worketh for you a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory? Are you convinced life or death (sleep), you will be in that holy city?

This world is not our home, we’re just passing through, our treasures are laid up some where beyond the blues; the angels beckon us from heaven’s open door, and we can’t feel at home in this world anymore. The world is not your friend, but your enemy. Be thou estranged from it’s systems and affairs.

The world is on the verge of dissolving when the Son of man appears in the sky. Heaven is the home of the righteous, and the abode of the spirits of just men made perfect. And God having provided some better things for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.

Will you be there when the saints shall go marching in? Will you be there when the saints are wearing their crown? Will you be there when we shall see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Enoch, Joseph, Job, Daniel, Stephen, John, Paul, and all the worthies of old?

Will you be there when we shall see the bright and shining face of our Lord, Saviour and great Redeemer, whom we shall kiss his feet and rely on his breast? Will you be there when we shall walk with Christ in robes of white on the streets of gold? Will you be there when we shall no longer see through a glass, darkly; but face to face?

Make up your mind and be wise. If heaven has not been in your thought, turn around. Make heaven number one, and brush off every competitor. For we know that if our earthly home is dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. WILL YOU BE THERE? Holiness is the certificate of assurance.
