I shall not return to Egypt

I shall not return to EgyptI shall not return to Egypt

Numbers 14:4

So they said to one another, “let’s choose a leader and go back to Egypt! “

The Israelites were determined to return to Egypt after receiving a false report about the land that was explored. They preferred to return to Egypt and become a slave than to risk fighting for independence. They have forgotten all the miracles that God had performed among them. They forgot that the battle was of the Lord.

Many Christians are returning to their vomit these days. What they have renounced when they gave their life to Jesus, they are now returning to it.

  • Some have vowed not to take bribe anymore but when they don’t have any money on them, they will demand for it.
  • Some ladies have vowed that they will not have premarital sex but when their lecturer demanded for it, they gave in because they didn’t want to have carry over.
  • Some ladies fell for sex because they wanted to secure a job. They were badly in need of it.
  • For some, it’s because they want promotion and increase in salary.

These kind of people have returned to Egypt.

  • Some have been preaching against lying, but when temptation came their way, they fell and have become professional liars.
  • Some have said bye bye to smoking and drinking when they surrendered their life to Christ, but the narrative had since changed. They have returned to their vomit.
  • You are also an Egyptian, if you have people you are not in good term with.
  • You are an Egyptian, if you are bearing grudges against anyone.
  • You are still a citizen of Egypt, if there is anyone you have refused to forgive.
  • You are an Egyptian if you are always back biting.
  • You also an Egyptian if you are a deceiver. A deceiver usually deceives with their actions and words. Their “yes” simply means “no”.
  • You are living in Egypt if you are wicked.
  • You have returned to Egypt if you have backslided.
  • You are already on your way to Egypt if the things of God are now becoming boring to you.
  • You are already on your way if you don’t have the time to study your bible, fast and to pray.

To return to your promised land, you need to surrender your life to Jesus or re-dedicate yourself to Jesus.

Are you ready? Say this powerful prayer: Lord Jesus, I come to you today as a sinner. Please forgive me my sins. I confess with my mouth that you are my Lord and Saviour. I believe that God raised you from death. I accept you as my Lord and Saviour. I say goodbye to the devil. Please write my name in the Book of Life.

  • You also need to ask God for forgiveness.
  • Re-dedicate your life to Jesus.
  • You need to trust God that He never fails and
  • You need to be obedient to His commandments.
