In the Cross: Dead to the rudiments and course of this world

In the Cross: Dead to the rudiments and course of this worldIn the Cross: Dead to the rudiments and course of this world

Galatians 6:14 “But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.”

A Christian who has experienced the divine grace of God, knows that the friendship of the world is enmity with God. He sees the world as a system controlled by Satan, and has no interest in the course of this world. A Christian who has Christ ruling and reigning on the throne of his heart, is dead to sin and the world. A Christian who has his heart fixed on getting to heaven will not rest in any of the plains of the world, neither converse with their exigencies.

But as commanded, looks for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God. A Christian who is really committed to the totality of the Bible, and has tasted the real grace of God, and has experienced the love of God shed abroad in his heart by the holy Ghost, will be estranged from the affairs of this present world.

However, today some who claim to be Christians are now dancing to the rudiments of this world. Knowing fully that Satan is the god of this world, and as such, will only influence it by his wicked, sinful and corrupt strategies. They are now engaging in worldly affairs. They’ve abandoned the psalms and hymns of edification, and are now singing to musics that do not build saints, nor give glory to God. They now copy the dress code of the world, and are now lascivious in their disposition. The slangs and vocabularies of the people of the world are what Christians are now using. Oh, forward generation!

Christian fervor and Christian commitment is thrown into sea, and negated; while worldly celebrities are being celebrated even among believers. Fraud is now accepted by some Christians who see it as quick money making strategy, and despise the word of God. They do not reverence God, nor the holy Spirit any more, rather they reverence men because of advantage and filthy lucre’s sake.

Christians are now saying, “Christianity is not foolishness,” we are going to do this, we are going to do that. There’s rarely any difference now between believers and the people of the world, because of the influence the world is having on the church. Biblical correction is now abhorred, and complacency is now the order of the day.

A Christian who is dead to flesh with the affections and lust, dead to the world and it’s worldliness; who is supposed to be a holiness revivalist in the midst of this sinful and perverse world, is now a broadcaster of world carousel. What a shame to the body of Christ! Christianity is now ordinary mouth profession, do as I say, don’t do as I do, is now the face of Christianity. We are now content to live without the fire, without the power, without the excitement, and the supernatural elements that would make us great! God have mercy!

Let us repent, and return to God with a broken heart and a contrite spirit, and let the LORD remould us, and fashion out of us profitable instruments, fit for the Master’s use, and prepared unto every good work. Let us return to ancient holiness. Let us wear on the inward garment of purity, with soul tearing prayers, radiating the light of divinity that will put the the devil on the run. It’s not too late, we can still arise and turn the world upside down with holiness for Christ. I believe we’ll repent, and the LORD will make of us a great army.

In the cross, in the cross, be my glory ever; till my raptured soul shall find, rest beyond the river.
