Rapture: An Event That Will Change the World Forever
1 Thessalonians 13:16-17 “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a loud cry of summons, with the shout of an archangel, and with the blast of the trumpet of God. And those who have departed this life in Christ will rise first. Then we, the living ones who remain [on the earth], shall simultaneously be caught up along with [the resurrected dead] in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and so always (through the eternity of the eternities) we shall be with the Lord!”
What is the Rapture?
The Rapture otherwise referred to as the” Second-coming of Christ”, is Jesus visible and triumphant return to the world. This will bring about the immediate transformation and catching up of all Christians, both dead and alive, to meet Jesus in the air at the sound of the trumpet.
Will the Rapture Be a Secret Event?
As much as I know from what the Bible says, the rapture will not be a secret. Nevertheless, only the believers will hear the sound of the trumpet. But the effect of the removal of the believers from the earth will, certainly be evident. There would an unrest and chaos in every nook and cranny of the world.
Revelations 1:7 “Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth shall gaze upon Him and beat their breasts and mourn and lament over Him. Even so [must it be]. Amen (so be it).”
When and How Will the Rapture Take Place?
The much awaited rapture would happen in an instant on a day no one expects.
Matthew 24:40-42 and 44 “At that time two men will be in the field; one will be taken and one will be left. Two women will be grinding at the hand mill; one will be taken and one will be left. Watch therefore [give strict attention, be cautious and active], for you do not know in what kind of a day [whether a near or remote one] your Lord is coming. You also must be ready therefore, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not expect Him.”
I’ve been privileged to have had several revelations about the rapture. In the most recent, (few days ago) people were screaming, “Rapture has taken place”. Young men, ladies, teenagers, etc were on the street lamenting and wailing about having missed the rapture but there was nothing they could do about it. It was already too late to change anything regarding their spiritual stand.
8 Signs of Christ’s Imminent Return to the World
No one knows for sure when Christ’s return will be. However, the Bible talks about the indicators of the end that we should look out for as we patiently wait for the return of Christ.
- Deception (many will claim to be Christ – Mathew 24:5)
- Wars and rumors of wars (Mathew 24:6)
- Famines and earthquakes (Mathew 24:7)
- Persecution and death of believers (Mathew 24:9)
- Disloyalty and betrayals (Matthew 24:10)
- Rise in the number of false prophets (Mathew 24:11)
- Backsliding amongst believers (the love of many will grow cold because sin will be on the increase (Mathew 24:12)
- The Gospel being preached in every part of the world as a testimony to all the nations. (Mathew 24:14)
Who Are Those Christ is Coming to Rapture?
Christ is returning to the earth to Rapture His very own. Those who kept their robes spotless from sin and kept the faith to the very end.
Revelation 3:10 Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth.”
Yes, these are those that Christ is coming to Rapture. This is the hope of every believer. To make the rapture.
Would Your Past Righteousness Save You if Rapture Meets You While Living in Sin?
What would count and actually save you, will be the state of your stand in God (Jesus) at the time of the rapture. Not your past Faith, Righteousness, Services, or other Spiritual Achievements.
Hence, it’s beyond important that you depart from sin if you desire to make the rapture.
Finally, I would leave you with this. The rapture is real, it’s not something that God would ever change His mind about. He has spoken and it will certainly happen sooner or later.
It’s not important if you don’t believe it. The important question here is, are you ready to spend your eternity in hell. A place full of ceaseless pain, anguish and sorrow. No, you’re not. No one is or will ever be ready or strong enough to handle hell. The sad part is, it’s forever. There won’t be any repentance there. Neither would there be any forgiveness or bail out by God in that place.
To you who has never known Jesus, the best gift you would ever give to yourself is Jesus. Give your heart and life to Him now. That’s the only way to make the rapture and escape hell.
And to you, the believer who still plays with sin, I will leave you with this scripture. Mediate on it!
Revelation 3:3 “Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; hold it fast, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you.”
