When gold turns God

When gold turns God

For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil… and… many sorrows (I Tim. 6:10, NKJV).

Diligence and determination can take a man up, but it takes Godly contentment and the fear of God to sustain him there. In a bid to be successful and rich, a lot of folks have thrown caution in the wind. They now disregard God’s dos and don’ts. When a person starts to treat biblical injunctions with levity, he’s already set out for failure in life. Righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a reproach to any people, says the word of God.

Judas, Gehazi, Achan and the likes ruined their destiny and glorious future due to greed. Uncontrolled desire for dishonest gains was their undoing. When a person is a ghost worker and gets paid for doing nothing, misappropriates funds, makes unjust gains, falsifies monetary figures, intentionally refuses to pay back a debt, uses false measures, sells fake or expired products, embezzles public funds, scams, steals, buys substandard materials when given enough amount to buy standard ones or cheats others to enrich himself, he misses out on God’s real blessings and invites trouble into his own life.

Dear reader, do you give or take bribes? Do you forget about integrity the moment you set your eyes on money? Do you do anything for money? Are you tight-fisted? Do you use your money to God’s glory or to sponsor iniquity? Do you use your money to encourage some popular but unscriptural practices? Do you use your money to intimidate others? Do you show off with what you think you have? Do you live extravagantly? Do you give to God? Do you touch lives positively with your money? Do you help others out of the little you have?

We can go on and on. But the bottom line is; it is unacceptable to use your money against the same God who gave you everything you have in the first place. I pray, receive the grace to yield to God in monetary matters. In Jesus name!

Today’s corporate prayer: Gold shall not become God in my life. In the name of Jesus!
